Shuttle Service Available For Marin County Fair
The 77th Marin County Fair starts Saturday and runs through the Fourth of July at the Marin County Fairgrounds in San Rafael.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – The 2018 Marin County Fair opens Saturday with food, fun, fireworks – and likely a lot of traffic.
Officials are encouraging fairgoers to avoid traffic near the Marin County Fairgrounds in San Rafael by using the shuttle service. People can park their vehicles at the Marin Commons parking lot at 1600 Los Gamos Drive and hop on the shuttle.
Marin Commons is on the west side of Highway 101 at the Lucas Valley Road and Smith Ranch Road exit, two miles north of the fairgrounds. Los Gamos Drive is a frontage road adjacent to the highway, providing easy parking access for fairgoers as well as for bus drivers.

The 77th Marin County Fair runs through the Fourth of July. Shuttles will run about every 20 minutes from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. all five days of the fair, from the bus stop at Marin Commons' Lobby B to the fairgrounds. Shuttle users should expect delays after the fireworks shows, which are scheduled at 9:30 p.m. every night, according to officials.
Parking at the fairgrounds is $20. Parking at Marin Commons is free. Shuttle rides are $2 for a round-trip. Children ages 4 and younger ride for free.

Fairgoers can also ride Golden Gate Transit, Marin Transit buses and the SMART train. SMART riders will be dropped off on Civic Center Drive, a few steps from the fair's main gate.
Fairgoers who ride their bike to the fair can park in the bike valet parking area near the main gate. The Marin County Bicycle Coalition offers the bike valet service for free from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on fair days.
