Suspect Attempts Sex Assault During San Rafael Break-In: Police

Police released a sketch of the man, who allegedly fled when he saw the victim's boyfriend.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – San Rafael police on Tuesday released a sketch of a man believed to have tried to sexually assault a woman during a burglary earlier this month.

The white male suspect in his early 30s was wearing a hooded sweatshirt when he entered an apartment on Cresta Way in the Terra Linda area of San Rafael around 2:45 a.m. on May 10, police Lt. Raffaello Pata said.

A 47-year-old woman was sleeping with her boyfriend when she was awakened by a man at the foot of the bed and shining a flashlight in her face, Pata said. The intruder fled when he saw the woman's boyfriend, who
chased the suspect but lost sight of him.
