On 11/9/2021 at about 2:30 am, the victim was in the area of Medway Road and Belvedere Street. He was approached by a female and she engaged him in conversation. Eventually, he got into a car, which was occupied by another female. The victim and the two females travelled to a parking lot in the area of Grand Avenue and East Francisco Blvd. While in the parking lot, an argument ensued between the victim and the females. One of the females pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the leg. The victim exited the car and both females fled in the vehicle. The victim walked from that location to the convenience store where the clerk called 911. Based on the time delay from when the shooting occurred and when SRPD was called, the suspects were not located that night.
SRPD Detectives took over this investigation. They obtained video footage of the two suspects and the vehicle they were driving, including the license plate number, from earlier in the night prior to the shooting. Detectives sent out information to law enforcement agencies in the Bay Area and Sacramento asking for them to be on the lookout for the two suspects and their vehicle.
