Suspicious Death Investigated Near China Camp State Park

SAN RAFAEL, CA — Authorities are investigating a suspicious death Friday near China Camp State Park in Marin County.

A possible medical emergency was reported around 8 a.m. in the area of Miwok Meadows at 1400 North San Pedro Road near China Camp State Park in San Rafael, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office. Responding deputies found a body along the roadway, which falls under the jurisdiction of California State Parks.

California State Parks requested the sheriff's office serve as lead agency in the investigation. The California Highway Patrol is also assisting with the investigation.

North San Pedro Road was closed in both directions, the sheriff's office said.
