Transitional Kindergarten in the Dixie School District

Dixie School District Extends Hours for Transitional Kindergarten for 2018-2019; Enrollment Happening Now!

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) has been growing steadily in the Dixie schools and will get a big boost next year with an extended day. All sites will go from 8:14-1:25 p.m., with an option for fee based after school care. TK classes are taught be certificated teachers and include a developmentally appropriate mix of play, hands on activities, and introduction to academic concepts. Students also get an opportunity to work with PE, art, and music specialists and be part of a multi-age school community. One might say that learning in a Dixie District TK is FUNdamental. For the 2018-2019 school year, TK spots are still open for students born between September 2 - December 2, 2013, and if your child is born in either August of 2013 or late December/January check in with us. Enrollment forms are available at Dixie Elementary, Vallecito Elementary, and Mary E. Silveira Elementary. If you have questions please call a school site or the district office at (415) 492-3706.

The Dixie District Transitional Kindergarten is part of our public school offering and the 8:14-1:25 p.m. program is free of charge.
