Dump Truck Hangs Off Highway 101, Prompts Sig-Alert In San Rafael
One person was injured in the two-vehicle crash, according to the San Rafael Fire Department.
SAN RAFAEL, CA – One person suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash that left a dump truck hanging off Highway 101 Thursday morning in San Rafael, authorities said.
The collision involved a dump truck and a sedan on southbound Highway 101, just south of the Central San Rafael exit, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was first reported around 9:40 a.m.
The driver of the car was injured in the collision, according to the San Rafael Fire Department. The box portion of the truck dangled over the guardrail above Third Street. Debris from the crash damaged two vehicles parked at the Park and Ride below the highway.

Pedestrian traffic was initially closed on Third Street in front of the Park and Ride due to the accident, according to San Rafael police.
The three left lanes were blocked on Highway 101 and traffic was backed up, according to the CHP. A Sig-alert was issued for the area. All lanes reopened by 11 a.m.
