Weather Prompts 3 State Highway Closures In Bay Area

State highways 152, 1 and 9 were closed.

BAY AREA, CA – State Highway 152 in unincorporated Santa Clara County remains closed in both directions as Caltrans crews continue to clean up trees that fell across the roadway Sunday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP had initially said the road would reopen around 4 a.m., but that has been pushed back to after 6 a.m., according to a CHP dispatcher. The trees initially fell on the roadway around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

In addition, state Highways 1 and 9 are also closed in both directions, the CHP said.

State Highway 1 south of Fullers Point in unincorporated Monterey County was closed due to rainy conditions around 5:40 p.m. Sunday and Caltrans won't be examining the roadway to make sure it is clear until after sunrise Monday, according to a CHP dispatcher.

State Highway 9 was closed around one mile south of 236 Upper Road in Boulder Creek in unincorporated Santa Cruz County due to fallen trees and wires down around 3:30 a.m. Monday. There is no estimated time of reopening.
