What is TRAFFIX? TRAFFIX is a traffic congestion relief program funded by Measure J, a 1/2 cent sales tax measure extended for 25 years by the voters of Contra Costa in 2004. It is a program specifically designed to reduce traffic congestion in the community's most congested roadways and intersections. The more students who ride the bus, the more cars we can remove from the roadway.
Removing cars translates into less congestion for everyone. And, for $250.00 for an annual pass, that equates to $0.55 cents per trip, about a quarter of what it costs parents to drive to school and back!
TRAFFIX began service in August with a fleet of new clean-burning buses with state-of-the-art safety features. To determine where the program will reduce traffic most effectively, TRAFFIX conducted comprehensive traffic studies throughout the Valley and surveyed parents at all San Ramon Valley schools.

After careful consideration, students at Los Cerros MS, Pine Valley MS, Green Valley ES and Walt Disney ES were chosen for the opportunity to ride these new buses. In addition, limited service will also be provided to Country Club ES, Neil Armstrong ES and Vista Grande ES.
TRAFFIX is operated jointly by the Town of Danville, City of San Ramon, Contra Costa County, and the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, with funding from Contra Costa County Measure J. For more details on TRAFFIX, please see the FAQ section of this website.
