Assistance League’s TeleCare Likes to “Party Hearty!”
Happy 50th Anniversary, TeleCare.

Assistance League® of Diablo Valley is a nonprofit, member volunteer organization dedicated to improving lives in our community through hands-on programs. Since 1971, TeleCare member volunteers have offered daily reassurance phone calls, free of charge, to homebound clients of all ages. Every Monday through Friday, volunteers and clients alike continue to enjoy friendly chats about such things as health and hobbies, as well as an overall exchange of ideas.
In pre-Covid years, TeleCare activities included attending an annual holiday party to meet fellow clients and member volunteers face to face, as well as receive greeting cards from the Assisteens®, an auxiliary where teens and tweens learn to participate in a community service at a young age. Last year, the holiday party was canceled due to Covid Protocol.
However, the festivities returned this year, which happens to be TeleCare’s Fiftieth Anniversary! On Sunday, December 5, Santa Claus returned to the chapter offices, much to the delight of appreciative party revelers, clients and TeleCare volunteers alike. All in attendance celebrated the resilience of the human spirit, a force that defies adversity.
