I treated myself to some me time today. A manicure and then took myself out to lunch at Chevy's. I was so proud of myself for ordering a salad instead of a preferred giant burrito. After the waitress took my order I saw a brochure on the table listing the calories for each dish, my healthy salad was a whopping 1220 calories!!!!
I hate this trend restaurants have of listing caloric content. I would prefer if they would list it on their websites only, so the public has access to it without rubbing our noses in it. I am not opposed to healthy choices but when I go to a restaurant I want to relax a little bit, and just be under the delusion that my salad is good for me, and makes me far superior to the person who orders cheese enchiladas. Sigh. A little ignorance isn't bad, right?

In case you are wondering I did not send the salad back. I thought that if I was going to eat 1220 calories I might as well ask for some sour cream on the side and just go for it. Next time I will get the lower calorie chicken tacos.
