San Ramon Valley Runner Eyes Second Trip to State Meet

Sara Griffith of San Ramon Valley High School eyes state track meet. It'll be her second trip in so many years the UC Davis-bound 400m runner is peaking at the right time.

Bound for UC Davis on a track scholarship next year, San Ramon Valley High senior Sara Griffith will first head back to the state meet this weekend.

As a junior in the meet last year she ran a personal best of 55.62. Slowed by a calf strain this year she is returning to form at just the right time. Winning the EBAL conference title  two weeks ago and last week winning the NCS Meet of Champions with a season best 56.62.

She has been dropping steadily the past couple of weeks and may be peaking if her injury doesn't flare up.

Training at Gamespeed for the last two years, I know Sara is a competitor and is well prepared for the challenge.

She has a great shot at making the final and being one of the top finishers.
