The Brass Door Now Delivers

The Brass Door is our newest team member, and really it amounts to a ‘Foodnearu’ coup!
The Brass Door restaurant and lounge in San Ramon is so much more than a great restaurant, it is a county wide (and should be a state wide) landmark. First of all the place has been around as “The Brass Door” longer than San Ramon was incorporated. If you don’t believe me, go in and see for yourself. There are pictures adorning their walls, aerial photos of the area circa 1956. San Ramon was farm land, highway 680 was not even a dream yet, and most of the people that will read this article were simply a gleam in Daddy’s eye.
Owner/operator Danny is third in the generation of family ownership, and he takes immense pride in doing so. At “The Brass Door” everyone is treated like royalty, they always have and always will. The food is always spectacular, and I mean ALWAYS! “The Brass Door” is a classic ‘AMERICAN’ restaurant, serving classic dishes with perfection. ‘Prime Rib’ with au jus, baked potato, creamed spinach is a specialty there, and is served in four different sizes. For a petite young lady with a petite appetite, order ‘Petite Prime Rib of Beef’ (8 oz.) Next is what I consider a perfect and plentiful meal, the ‘Prime Rib of Beef’ (12 oz.). And for lumberjacks, all pro linebackers, and Bigfoot himself, the ‘Gourmet Cut Prime Rib of Beef’ at (16 oz.) has your name on it.
‘Filet Mignon’ served with Béarnaise sauce, vegetables, and au gratin potatoes, another specialty of the house. Amazing… “The Brass door” menu also features a New York Steak that is so tender you can cut it with a fork. The Filet Mignon served with a Béarnaise sauce, incredible… And by all means I cannot forget to mention the Rack of Lamb ‘Brass Door” style; served with risotto in a Rosemary bordelaise reduction. Perfection!
Other featured items on “The Brass Door” menu include classic dishes such as Chicken Piccata, Veal Cutlet, Beef Stroganoff, and my absolute personal favorite, ‘Calamari Amandine’. The Calamari is dipped in a light egg batter, fried, drizzled with a lemon butter sauce and served over a bed of pasta. It is out of this world tasty!!! I don’t think Bill Gates eats any better than this!
Mike at the bar is a friend of mine (although he doesn’t get me drinks for free…) and he’s quick with a joke (but won’t light up your smoke) and there’s no place that he’s rather be. Believe me guys, Mike the bartender is the very definition of the word. Mike is what everyone wants him to be… He knows all the regulars by name, and there are a TON of them! “The Brass door” and Mike Dickerson seriously go hand in hand. He has worked there for over twenty years, and I guarantee you if you were to go to “The Brass Door” one time for a beer then go back ten years later, not only would mike remember you and your name, but he would know the brand of beer you had. Just as The Brass Door is the best restaurant in san Ramon, Mike Dickerson is the best bartender. You might say it’s “The Perfect Storm” of ambiance, food, and fun!!!
The Brass Door is a wonderful restaurant and we are proud to partner with them as their food delivery facilitator. Even so, I hope that you don’t use ‘Foodnearu’ but instead make the trek down to The Brass Door to enjoy the “vibe” the hospitality and the terrific food.
