Bruce Hornsby, Grammy Award-Winning Rock Icon, Performing In San Ramon
The singer of "The Way It Is" will perform songs from his career and upcoming album at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center.
SAN RAMON, CA — Bruce Hornsby is coming to San Ramon, and that's just the way it is. The three-time Grammy Award-winning singer, whose 23 albums have sold over 11 million copies worldwide, will perform with his band The Noisemakers on June 10 at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center.

Hornsby, 71, draws from numerous traditions, including folk, jazz, bluegrass, rock, and jam band styles. He gained international fame in 1987 with his single "The Way It Is," which was the most played song on American radio that year. The song's classic piano riff has been sampled in numerous songs, most notably Tupac Shakur's "Changes."

Hornsby won a 1987 Grammy Award for Best New Artist, a 1990 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Recording, and a 1994 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
From 1990-1992, Hornsby was a part-time member of the Grateful Dead, and performed with them in over 100 concerts around the world. He has appeared on over 100 records with some of the greatest names in rock, including Bob Dylan, Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, Sting, Willie Nelson, and many more.

His San Ramon concert, part of a wider Indigo Park Tour, will feature material from throughout his career, and music from his forthcoming album "Indigo Park," which drops April 3.
