Duo Suspected Of Stealing Medication From Safeway Arrested

Officers allegedly discovered $10,000 worth of stolen medications and $2,000 worth of stolen merchandise in the car the suspects were in.

SAN RAMON, CA — Two people who allegedly stole over-the-counter medications from a San Ramon Safeway were arrested Monday, police said. Safeway employees called police to report the theft and said suspects fled the area in a silver Hyundai sedan with paper plates.

Patrol officers found the car nearby and after conducting a traffic stop, allegedly discovered $10,000 worth of stolen over-the-counter medications and $2,000 worth of stolen merchandise from other local retailers in the trunk of the suspect's car. The suspects' names have not yet been released.

The two occupants were arrested on suspicion of multiple charges and booked into the into the Martinez Detention Facility.
