Injury Accident Closes Green Valley Road
Alamo teen seriously injured in auto/bicyclist accident

Danville Police are investigating a collision involving a motorist and a bicyclist that occurred on Green Valley Road Wednesday afternoon.
According to Police Chief Steve Simpkins, around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, a 14-year-old juvenile male was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk along Green Valley Road near Hope Lane. The bicyclist attempted to veer around garbage cans on the sidewalk and ended up in the roadway where he collided with an automobile.
Paramedics were called to the scene and the teenager was transported by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Oakland and is undergoing treatment. The accident caused the closure of Green Valley Road between Diablo Road and Stone Valley Road for several hours. Chief Simpkins said the accident is currently under investigation, and they have the full cooperation of the driver involved.

Green Valley Road will remain closed between Waingarth Way and Hope Lane while the accident is investigated.
