Kaiser Permanente to Open New Medical Office Building in San Ramon

Kaiser Permanente is set to open a new technologically-advanced 50,000-square-foot medical office this fall located just off I-680 in San Ramon.

The new facility, located at 2300 Camino Ramon in the Bishop Ranch office park, will ensure that Kaiser Permanente continues to provide personalized, 21st century health care and even more convenience for the members who live and work in the area.

“More and more, health-care consumers want to choose how and where they receive care,” said Colleen Mckeown, senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente’s Diablo Area. “Our location in Bishop Ranch allows us to not only serve the residents of San Ramon and nearby communities, but we are also ideally situated to provide care to the employees who work in Bishop Ranch.”

Services at the San Ramon Medical Offices will include: Adult and Family Medicine; Pediatrics; Women’s Health; Reproductive Health Services; Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy; Dermatology and Cosmetic Dermatology; and a Healthy Living Center.

The San Ramon Medical Office will be equipped with Kaiser Permanente’s advanced electronic medical record system, Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect®. Unlike other records systems that involve only parts of a patient’s care, Kaiser Permanente’s electronic medical records and information are available at every point of care throughout Kaiser Permanente’s Northern California region — from the emergency room to doctor’s office to the hospital room – even to the member’s home, via secure, interactive online tools that are available at no additional cost.

The new three-story San Ramon Medical Offices will have space for 42 providers and house laboratory, pharmacy and X-ray services all under one roof.

“We are excited to bring our expertise to the community of San Ramon,” said. Dr. David Niver, physician-in-chief for Kaiser Permanente’s Diablo Area. “This medical office is another example of Kaiser Permanente’s dedication to the local community. Our state-of-the-art facilities and advanced technology coupled with our integrated health care delivery system ensure only the highest level of care. And the physicians who will be practicing in San Ramon share that dedication. They are both technically excellent and dedicated to delivering service excellence.”

Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to industry-leading health information technology knits all of the parts into a whole.

“By making members’ complete health histories available to clinicians at every point of care, we are able to provide the right care at the right time,” added Dr. Judy Lively, physician-in-chief for Kaiser Permanente’s Diablo Area.

The new San Ramon Medical Office will also include the latest digital imaging equipment, which improves accuracy and provides results more quickly to members, who can securely view their results online. This equipment is also more environmentally friendly because digital mammograms and digital x-rays do not require the chemicals and film that are used in conventional imaging.

“The addition of the San Ramon Medical Offices means we will be readily able to offer family-centered care to the community of San Ramon,” said Dr. Kai Kai Lam, pediatrician and physician site leader for the San Ramon Medical Office. “We plan to offer extended weekday hours, including the lunch hour, to better meet the needs of local residents.”

The new San Ramon Medical Office is a satellite of the Walnut Creek Medical Center and is expected to open this November.
