New San Ramon City Council Sworn In
Mayor Dave Hudson and council members Mark Armstrong and Marisol Rubio took the oath of office Tuesday night.

SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon swore in its new City Council Tuesday evening following a regular meeting.
Councilmember Marisol Rubio, the former director of the Dublin San Ramon Services District, was the only new face on the council. Mayor Dave Hudson and District 2 Councilmember Mark Armstrong were both re-elected in November. All three took the oath of office Tuesday.
Councilmember Scott Perkins and Vice Mayor Sridhar Verose both have two years left on four-year terms.

Hudson, who has served five terms on the San Ramon City Council and serves on several local committees, beat two challengers for his seat. Sabina Zafar, a four-year council member and technology executive, chose to run for mayor rather than re-election to her seat. Dinesh Govindarao, a physician and San Ramon Library Advisory Committee member, also ran.
Hudson won 12,798 votes, or 48.64%, according to final Contra Costa County totals from Dec. 2. Zafar won 7,302 votes, or 27.75%, while Govindarao won 6,209, or 23.60%. Zafar was recognized for her council service on Tuesday.

In District 2, incumbent Mark Armstrong beat challenger Sara Lashanlo, a chemical engineer and member of the Innovation and Technology Advisory Committee, 59-40 percent.
In District 4, Marisol Rubio beat Parks and Community Services Commission Chair Heidi Kenniston-Lee 64-35 percent.
