San Ramon Gathers Supplies For Children Of Essential Workers
The City of San Ramon is gathering donations to stock new child care centers that will tend to children whose parents must still work.
SAN RAMON, CA — Contra Costa County is setting up child care centers to help take care of the children who aren't in school but whose parents still must work their essential jobs during the coronavirus outbreak, and San Ramon is stepping up to help.
The city announced Tuesday it will be gathering supplies to help stock the new child care centers, and will be accepting donations through the end of the month.
The city says they need:

- Toilet paper
- Paper towels
- Baby wipes
- Surgical gloves
- Liquid hand soap
- Disinfectant spray and wipes
The city is also accepting donations of goggles, face shields and other personal protective equipment to give to local health care providers.
Any donations can be dropped off at San Ramon City Hall at 700 Bollinger Canyon Road. They will be accepted Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until the supply drive ends May 1.

The child care centers will be set up across the county and the bay area. As the San Francisco Chronicle reports, around 90 child care programs in San Francisco are still up and running but only serving children of essential workers. These new centers will help supplement their care across Contra Costa County.
