SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon residents are asked to fill out a community survey on what they’re looking for in a new city manager. The City Council is recruiting for a new city manager, who is responsible for carrying out the priorities established by the council and overseeing the day-to-day operations of city government.

In December, the council voted 5-0 to appoint Steven Spedowfski interim city manager to replace outgoing Manager Joe Gorton, who retired in January after a four-year stint. Spedowfski was deputy city manager, and had worked for San Ramon for over 20 years. He is also a former Livermore City Councilmember. The council may vote to appoint him full-time city manager.

The survey consists of five questions asking about desired personal qualities and professional priorities. It is available to residents until April 30.
