San Ramon Tesla Loses Control, Crashes Through Home Wall: Report
A San Ramon man lost control of his car as he was pulling into his garage. It drove through a wall and ruined his kitchen.

SAN RAMON, CA — A San Ramon man’s Tesla lost control as he pulled into his garage Monday night. The car slammed through a wall and damaged his kitchen, according to a KPIX report.
The car hit a wall and drove straight into his home, taking the kitchen island and the refrigerator out, a neighbor told KPIX. The weight of the collapsed wall stopped the car’s forward progress, but the wheels continued to spin.
San Ramon police confirmed the collision to Patch. “On 02/06/23, at approximately 9:38 pm, San Ramon Police officers and personnel from the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District responded to the 2000 block of Poinsettia Street, San Ramon, on the report of a non-injury traffic collision involving one vehicle and a single-family residence,” SRPD Acting Captain Tami Williams told Patch when asked about the Tesla crash. Williams said the investigation regarding the cause of the collision is ongoing.
In April, an Irvine man reported that his Tesla Model 3’s computer froze while he was driving 83 mph on the freeway. Javier Rodriguez told multiple outlets that all the buttons and switches, including turn signals and hazard lights, stopped working. It then started to get hot in the car, and Rodriguez noticed a strange scent. Though the accelerator stopped responding, Rodriguez was able to drive off the road and reboot the car.
