Sanat Sethy Announces Candidacy For Mayoral Seat

Engineer and businessman, Sanat Sethy, declares his candidacy for mayor of San Roman, California, as Mayor Bill Clarkson approaches the end of his term.

Sethy shares that his primary initiatives are to promote a more transparent and collaborative local government, to increase the communication between the city and the school board and to preserve the tranquil beauty of San Roman’s parks, hills and golf courses by protecting them from unwanted development. Additionally, Sethy will focus on resolving traffic issues by planning and adapting new and innovative solutions. Sethy plans to decrease resident fees for utilization of public facilities and appeal processes and guide the city to execute safe and precautionary practices amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sethy finds that San Ramon’s population growth poses a threat to the city’s schools, which are already overcrowded by national standards. Given the inevitable shift from virtual leaning to in- person teaching that will soon take place, Sethy believes that the development of a new high school is a necessity.

Sethy earned his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Master of Business Administration later advancing his education with programs from California Institute of Technology, Stanford Continuing Studies and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Sethy, his wife and two children have called San Ramon home for 13 years. As a devoted father and resident, Sethy is confident that his determination and tireless work ethic will make for a dependable and proactive leader of the city.
