Shooting Threat At Dougherty Valley High Deemed Not Credible: SRPD
DVHS, Venture School, and Del Amigo High School were placed on lockdown following the second threat in just over a month.

SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon police have deemed the second threat at Dougherty Valley High School in just over a month not credible, according to school officials and the SRPD.
Just before 11:37 a.m. Monday, Dougherty Valley administrators were made aware of a shooting threat for Tuesday written on a science lab station, according to an email sent to families at that time. San Ramon police were called to the school, and a secure campus was initiated that did not take in any visitors or parents. The message read, "I Am going to Shoot up the School on December 13," according to an email sent by Principal Evan Powell Monday afternoon.
Police reported the threat was not credible on Twitter at 12:25 p.m.

At 12:35 p.m., school officials emailed families that SRPD investigators said the threat did not appear to be credible. The combined campuses of DVHS, the Venture School, and Del Amigo High School were still under a secure campus, and students were not allowed to leave.
By 1:13 p.m., all students and staff were deemed safe and the secure campus was lifted. SRPD will remain on campus throughout the day, Principals Evan Powell and Lynsie Castellano told parents.

Another email to families is anticipated at the end of the day, a district spokesperson told Patch.
Monday’s threat marks the second threat at Dougherty Valley and the third threat at a San Ramon school in just over a month. On the morning of Friday, Nov. 4, police arrived and instituted a lockdown following a shooting threat written on a bathroom wall. The threat was deemed non-credible and the secure campus was lifted at about 9:30 that morning, according to a report in Danville San Ramon.
On Monday, Nov. 7 at around 1 p.m., another shooting threat was found written on a bathroom wall at Quail Run Elementary School. The threat was deemed not credible at about 1:45 and the secure campus was lifted at 1:50 p.m.
The school follows the "I Love You Guys" emergency procedures. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to report it on the CareLine on the SRVUSD website, Principal Powell said.
"The safety of this campus and everyone on it is my greatest responsibility and one that I take very seriously," Powell said in a fourth email sent to families Monday afternoon. "I am always open to talking with you or your student and if you would find that helpful, please let me know. I know that incidents like these can be troubling and worrisome, even when we know the threat is not credible. If you feel that your student needs additional support because of this incident, please have them reach out to their counselor."
