Smoke, Wind To Blanket East Bay
As smoke lingers over the region, expect some wind gusts, too.

EAST BAY, CA — As wildfires continue to devastate the state, smoke is expected to continue to impact the Bay Area "through at least early this week with dry conditions and light offshore winds," the National Weather Service says. By next week, though, some wet weather may be in the picture.
"Seasonably mild, dry conditions will then persist through much of the week and into the upcoming weekend," the NWS said in its Monday morning forecast. "A pattern change will potentially bring rainfall to the region around Thanksgiving."
In the meantime, smoke from the Camp Fire in Butte County continues to cause unhealthy air quality in the Bay Area and the haze is expected to linger through Tuesday, air quality officials said. The hazardous smoke has created unhealthy conditions for much of the region over the past few days.

The district's air quality map at baaqmd.gov, updated every hour, showed much of the region in "unhealthy" red on Monday. The public is urged to avoid outdoor activities and wood burning is prohibited.
