SRVUSD Sports, Games, Practices Canceled Through Monday Due To Heat

SAN RAMON VALLEY, CA – The San Ramon Valley Unified School District moved indoors today and Thursday all students' outdoor activities, including P.E., and canceled sports practices and games due to the poor air quality and extreme heat.
All indoor and outdoor SRVUSD middle and high school athletic activities, including all home, neutral and away practices and competitions, are canceled through Monday, September 4, including all CIF fall sports: cross country, tennis, football, water polo, golf and volleyball, district officials said.
SRVUSD added:

- This cancellation applies to extracurricular and co-curricular activities involving marching band, cheerleading, color guard, pom and dance teams starting today throughMonday.
- The only exception to this directive is that coaches or directors may meet with students in a classroom as long as the meeting does not include any physical exertion.
"This decision was made with the full support of the North Coast Section Commissioner, Gil Lemmon. We have also been in communication with San Ramon Valley Fire District Chief and are monitoring the air quality," the district said.
