SAN RAMON, CA — Police in San Ramon are warning residents to be vigilant with their mail, especially during the impending tax season. According to police, would-be mail thieves eagerly search for W-2s, which can provide them with a treasure trove of invaluable personal information, including social security numbers.

In Pleasanton, a recent rash of mail thefts prompted police officials to issue a reminder to residents to protect their mailboxes and outgoing mail.
