County Fire Station 46 is now under construction in Valencia, promising faster emergency response and added wildfire protection for the Santa Clarita Valley by fall 2027. The fully solar, net‑zero facility will house an engine, paramedic squad, and reserve units, and is designed to support the area’s growing population from its Stevenson Ranch location.

Family Identifies Man Shot, Killed At Santa Clarita Sports Complex (hometownstation.com) — A man was fatally shot and another critically injured late Saturday night outside the Santa Clarita Valley Sports Complex on Centre Pointe Parkway, and officials say a person of interest is now detained. Family members have identified the man who died as Joshua Trujillo, a father of four, and have launched a GoFundMe to help cover his burial costs and support his children.
3. *An All American BBQ To Celebrate Flag Day! (hometownstation.com) — A Flag Day-themed All American BBQ is coming up at VFW Post 6885 on Sierra Highway in Canyon Country, offering live music, scout-led flag ceremonies, and games for all ages. Santa Clarita Valley residents can grab $12 tickets ($40 for four) at the door or online and enjoy honoring local Purple Heart recipients while celebrating with neighbors.
4. June 27: Santa Clarita Amateur Radio Club's Field Day Event (scvnews.com) — An overnight Amateur Radio Field Day is coming to Bouquet Canyon Church next to Central Park in Santa Clarita from Saturday, June 27 at 11 a.m. through Sunday morning. Residents can drop by to see how ham operators set up off‑grid emergency communications, learn about contacting other operators nationwide, and get information on joining the Santa Clarita Amateur Radio Club.
