The program will feature keynote speaker Brigadier General Michael Warmack, U.S. Army (retired), and performances by the CCLA Marching Band and the Elsie Allen High School Marching Band & Drumline.
“Our veterans are our neighbors, friends and fellow community members, and their service deserves our recognition and gratitude,” said Dan Lambert, spokesperson for the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa East/West.. “This luncheon gives us an opportunity to thank them personally, hear their stories and show that their sacrifices are remembered.”
Warmack devoted 32 years to active military service, including service in Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Commissioned as an infantry officer, he held leadership positions through brigade command and completed his military career as Deputy Commanding General of the 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne).
“Honoring veterans helps connect generations and gives young people a deeper understanding of service and responsibility,” said Bill Deedy, Kiwanis spokesperson. “We are proud to join Rotary in creating a welcoming occasion where our community can express its appreciation to those who served.”
Tickets are $20 each, with no cost to veterans. Rotary and Kiwanis members are encouraged to host a veteran and should contact their club representative for tickets. Veterans may contact any Santa Rosa Rotary or Kiwanis club to obtain tickets, or call or text Dan Lambert at 707-484-5808.
