3. Santa Barbara Unified expands e-bike safety program for students (ksby.com) — Santa Barbara Unified is tightening e-bike rules for the 2026-27 school year, requiring students who ride to campus to complete safety training, register their bikes, and obtain permits. The expanded program, now at all junior highs and several high schools, emphasizes helmets, legal bike classifications, and safer riding habits as faster, more powerful e-bikes appear on local streets.
4. Breast Cancer Resource Center hosts 28th annual Pink Lounge Gala at Rosewood Miramar - Santa Barbara News-Press (newspress.com) — Santa Barbara residents affected by breast cancer are invited to support the Breast Cancer Resource Center's free local services at the 28th annual Pink Lounge Gala on October 9 at Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito. The evening will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, live auction, and dancing, with proceeds funding counseling, wellness programs, and integrative therapies for clients across Santa Barbara County.
