$1.6 Million Street Repairs Begin In Santa Cruz

The work will continue through July.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The city of Santa Cruz has begun work on the 2019 Surface Seal Project which is scheduled to continue weekdays through July 31. Funded by Measure D and Measure H tax dollars, the project includes rehabilitation of local streets "that have experienced significant deterioration," according to the city.

The surface seal work will take place at various locations in east and west Santa Cruz. Intermittent lane closures and limited on-street parking are expected during construction. Sidewalks will occasionally be closed, but all driveways in the project areas are expected to remain accessible.

The cost of the 2019 Surface Seal Project is approximately $1.6 million, funded through the Fiscal Year 2019 Capital Improvement Program. Construction details, including a timeline, are available at www.cityofsantacruz.com.
