Children Knocked Out Of Boats In Santa Cruz Sailing Class
Several children were tossed into the frigid waters of the Santa Cruz Harbor after four sailboats were knocked over by a large wave.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — Several children were participating in a sailing class when four small sailboats were tipped over by a wave around 4-5 feet tall Sunday afternoon. The wave pushed several children off their vessels and into the water, footage from KSBW 8 revealed.
Five of six kids were able to swim to shore on their own while another was rescued, KSBW 8 reported.
The group was participating in a sailing school class around 4:30 p.m. at the mouth of the Santa Cruz Harbor, the Associated Press reported.

"The white water just tumbled them and they were just like dominoes flying through the water," KPIX-TV reported witness Anna Ritter said, according to the AP.
No injuries were reported, according to multiple reports.

A high surf warning was issued early Sunday, cautioning coastal residents of a large swell coming, according to the National Weather Service. Waves were predicted to reach a height of up to 30 feet or higher along the Central Coast and Northern California.
