3 Town Halls To Address Public Safety & Environmental Concerns
On agenda: the Quality of Life Ordinance, aimed at illegal disposal of hypodermic needles, encampments and nuisance crimes in Santa Cruz.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — Three upcoming town hall meetings will address the proposed Quality of Life Ordinance, city-wide public safety and police initiatives, along with litter and dumping issues affecting neighborhoods in Santa Cruz, according to officials.
"Once again, SCPD Rangers and Community Service Officers trekked through Depot Park and Arana Gulch to clean up several abused park areas," said the Santa Cruz Police Department, which posted several photographs of the recently collected rubbish.
"The park areas are repeatedly filled with trash, drug debris, among other biohazards that pollute the environment. Coral Street is an ongoing area ... littered with waste pollution. Public Works and Railroad employees took multiple truckloads of garbage to the dump. Let's stop this cycle."
