2. With developer chosen, Town Center plan in Scotts Valley advances (santacruzlocal.org) — A long-delayed Town Center project in nearby Scotts Valley is finally moving forward after the city secured land once partly owned by the City of Santa Cruz and chose developer Swenson, which has ties to Santa Cruz County. The latest plan emphasizes hundreds of new, mostly below-market-rate homes alongside commercial space, and residents will get chances in 2027 planning meetings to weigh in on how the project reshapes the area.
3. Santa Cruz METRO Leaders Selected for Statewide Transit Advisory Roles (tpgonlinedaily.com) — Santa Cruz METRO's CEO Corey Aldridge and planning chief John Urgo have been tapped for key statewide transit advisory groups that will help shape future funding and Caltrans transit policies. Their new roles could influence how much money and planning support eventually flows back to Santa Cruz County's bus service, zero-emission fleet transition, and potential affordable housing on METRO properties.
4.
