Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested Near Los Gatos
He had $9,000 in stolen money when deputies arrested him near Los Gatos.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — A Mountain View man was arrested near Los Gatos Friday after he robbed the River Street Wells Fargo in Santa Cruz, police said.
Fernandez S. Gomez, 24, sped away in a red Mercedes reported stolen in Mountain View after the crime, which occurred around 2 p.m. Friday, the Santa Cruz Police Department said. California State Parks and police pursued him on Highway 17, and the California Highway Patrol found the abandoned Mercedes on Glenwood Drive, near Chapel of the Hill.
He was eventually found and arrested near Los Gatos with more than $9,000 of stolen money on his person, police said.

Gomez, who was on parole, was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
