Beaches To Close Labor Day In Unincorporated Santa Cruz County
Beaches in unincorporated Santa Cruz County will close for much of Labor Day weekend, supervisors decided Tuesday.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Beaches in unincorporated Santa Cruz County will be closed for much of Labor Day weekend amid the coronavirus pandemic, the county Board of Supervisors decided Tuesday.
Beaches will be closed 5 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, though the public can access the beaches from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the county announced in a news release.
The public will be permitted to cross the sands to surf, paddle-board, swim, boogie-board, kayak and engage in other water activities at all times, the county said.

Similar restrictions will likely be implemented by local governments across the Monterey Bay as officials look to clamp down on leisurely travel during the coronavirus pandemic, the county said.
