Kate Clemens, PA-C
Kate is a licensed Physician Assistant, holistic health coach, and founder of New Mindscape in Capitola, CA. With over 20 years of experience in both conventional and alternative wellness, Kate blends clinical expertise with intuitive healing to guide others toward deep transformation.
Her diverse background includes certifications in yoga instruction, craniosacral therapy, nutrition, and multiple bodywork modalities. She holds a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Yale School of Medicine and is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and United States Naval Academy.
Kate’s passion lies in creating safe, sacred spaces where individuals can reconnect with their inner wisdom. Through her work at New Mindscape, she offers ketamine-assisted treatment programs that integrate mindfulness, somatic practices, and gut-brain healing to support emotional resilience and mental clarity.
James White, MD 
James is a medical doctor boarded in Emergency Medicine. He practiced at some busy medical centers where he continually advanced his clinical skills and knowledge base including at Kaiser where he taught 3rd year ER residence and sat on the Quality Review Committee. 
Dr. White has always had a diverse interest in the practice of medicine and has sought out complimentary approaches. He has significant experience in the ER use of Ketamine and is an expert on its uses in the emergency setting. As the use for Ketamine in the treatment of resistant depression and anxiety has become more widely known and studied, Dr. White took some additional training in its use for this purpose under the tutelage of Ketamine pioneer and psychiatrist Dr. Phil Wolffson. Its practical purposes have become increasingly clear, that it can be extremely beneficial in decluttering a disorganized mind allowing the issue at hand to be identified and clarity to be restored. It is further felt that there is a group wisdom present when journeying in a small group that aids in the process of enlightenment.

ABOUT THE MUSIC OF YOGA
Kirtan is a spiritual service with five parts that is found in the path of Bhakti Yoga. One of the parts is the chanting of Sanskrit healing and empowerment mantras and the singing of devotional songs called bhajans. Kirtan is a musically guided meditation practice. Practicing this yoga calms the mind, relaxes the body and energizes the Spirit. Reciting mantra with a devotional attitude, especially the singing of bhajans, has a calming effect on the brain, quieting the mind so that we can experience the opening of our hearts, allowing us to taste the blissful reality that is our true nature.
Come dive into the depths of your own heart in this safe, supportive environment. No previous yoga, meditation or singing experience is necessary to participate. 
Practice is led by Dayākar Dās who is a Certified Ashtanga Yoga Teacher and practitioner of 32 years, who has been teaching meditation and leading kirtan for over two decades.

5th Annual Live Oak Jack Rabbit 1-Mile Run &amp; Student Art Contest Fundraiser on April 19, 2026
The non-profit Live Oak Education Foundation is raising funds to support the schools within the Live Oak School District.
The 5th annual Live Oak Jack Rabbit 1-Mile Run and Student Art Contest Fundraiser will take place on Sunday, April 19th, at Shoreline Middle School on 17th Avenue in Santa Cruz, CA. Opening ceremonies begin at 8:45 AM. Registration for the 1-mile races on the USATF-certified track are open to the public online at: <a href="https://tinyurl.com/LOJR2026" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">tinyurl.com/LOJR2026</a>
The first wave of runners takes off at 9:00 AM and races continue every 15 minutes through 11:45 AM. The funds raised go to support the arts program for the Live Oak School District students.&nbsp; Prizes for the fastest times will be awarded during the Closing Ceremonies, which begin at 12 noon.
All are invited to join this community fun run for the 1-mile challenge as a solo runner or as part of a relay team.&nbsp; View student art on display and cast your vote for your favorites, browse the merchant marketplace, enjoy food, entertainment and community partner booths.

Live Oak Jack Rabbit 1-Mile Run and Student Art Contest

Looking to free up some space? You’ve come to the right place. Within modern times we have been accustomed to sitting in chairs, at desks working, or in many situations that aren’t conducive for proper posture or optimal function in our bodies. Lots of people are struggling with issues in their back, neck, shoulders, and wrists and don’t have effective options to combat this. In this workshop, we will work deeply with the fascia throughout the upper body and more. Fascia is the connective tissue that holds the bones, ligaments, muscles, organs, and just about everything else down to the cellular level. We will move, twist, and breathe, all of which will impact the entire body to release tension and open up. To help us integrate, we will complete the session with a 15 minute Reiki-infused gong bath that will support your body in the entire process of regeneration and expansion. Fascial Maneuvers is a powerful up-and-coming modality developed by Human Garage that allows the body to heal itself by utilizing unique postures, breath, and movement. This process frees up restrictions in the body, allows for better mobility, and helps break through blockages. With a clear intention, these techniques work on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level, bringing balance, harmony, and empowerment to the human experience. You will leave feeling more expanded, like a weight has lifted off your shoulders so you can head back into life with a greater sense of ease. Samuel Renfroe is a Reiki Master, Yoga/Meditation Teacher, and a Certified Facial Maneuvers Coach by Human Garage. He likes to explore all forms of wellness–body, mind, and soul. His journey has called him to look deeper, learning how to become the full expression of himself through service, travel, community, play, and everyday life interactions. As he continues this process, he invites you to join him in all that he has learned so we can share in a greater sense of well-being. His teaching style brings emphasis on grounding into the body through the breath, mindful movement, and a meditative awareness. A gong-centered sound experience (sound bath style) inviting rest, listening, and integration. The session begins with gentle instruments — harmonium, crystal bowls, flute and handpan, to help the body arrive and relax. As the experience deepens, the gongs become the primary voice, filling the space with rich, layered tones. Silence then gentle instruments support an easy return at the end. Some people come simply to rest and unwind. Others notice patterns softening, or gain clarity about what they are ready to release or move toward. There is no right way to receive the experience. No experience is required. You lie down, get comfortable, and allow the gongs to meet you where you are. Adron Beene is a gong player, classically trained musician, and Viniyoga RYT 500 teacher based in Royal Oaks California. He lives on a small, oak forested sheep farm, where the rhythms of land and animals quietly shape his approach to sound.
