Concert Line-Up For 'First Saturdays' In Downtown Santa Cruz

The shows are at the Veterans Memorial Building beginning in February, and are presented by Tandy Beal and Co.

Tandy Beal and Company presents the First Saturday Family Concert Series, starting this February -- Extraordinary Bay Area and Local artists in dance and music bring high-quality interactive and affordable concerts for families right in downtown Santa Cruz!

The series will be held at the Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Santa Cruz and will run February 7 through May 2, every first Saturday of the month at 11 am.

February 7th 11 AM: Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir - Celebrating Black History Month, this Grammy Nominated vocal ensemble shares songs from the African Diaspora. Winners of the Parents Choice Award, their performances are interactive and uplifting.

March 7th 11 AM: Keith Terry’s Crosspulse Percussion Ensemble - Part international drill team, part polycultural rhythm section, this is music you can see and dance you can hear! People Magazine chose their new CD as one of the Top 5 Kids’ albums. Featured on PBS, CBS and NPR, Crosspulse is known and loved around the world!

April 4th 11 AM: Micha Scott Dances! A high-octane dancer, Micha Scott premieres her new dance company. She trained with Garth Fagan (choreographer for the Lion King) and was a soloist with his company around the world! She was featured in a PBS special, New York Griot.

May 2nd 11 AM: The Magic Carpet: World Dance with extraordinary local artists: Esteban and Elda Ortiz’ Corazon en Flor (Mexico), John and Nancy Lingemann (Argentina), Shakti Bhakti (India), Luh Anderawati (Bali) and more! You get to see the world without needing a passport!

Concerts start at 11 a.m.
