COVID-19 Outbreak Sickens 25 In Live Oak Assisted Living Home

Updated: No new cases have been reported since last week.

LIVE OAK, CA — An outbreak at a Live Oak assisted living facility has sickened 25 people as of Tuesday, according to the county.

That includes 14 residents and 11 staff in Maple House II, according to Corinne Hyland, spokesperson for the Santa Cruz County Health Services Agency. The numbers are unchanged since last week.

One resident's death has been linked to COVID-19.

An outbreak at skilled nursing facility Watsonville Post Acute sickened 50 residents and 21 staff, and resulted in 15 deaths, county Health Officer Gail Newel previously said.

An outbreak was announced Monday among Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office jail staff. Nine employees tested positive for COVID-19 as of Monday.
