New Music Works and Darling House Concert Series present an evening of conversation and music with Korean-San Franciscan composer Hyo-shin Na and Thomas Schultz, on piano. Ms. Na’s chamber and choral music will be featured in New Music Works profile concert of Ms. Na's music “Hyo-shin Na and New Music Works” on the following Saturday, April 28, 2012, 8pm at the Cabrillo College Music Recital Hall in Aptos.

Twice awarded recipient of the Korean National Composer’s Prize, Ms. Na’s works draw from nature - its sounds and rhythms - to create unique musical dialects of innate directness and beauty. Thomas Schultz, will be joining Ms. Na to perform some examples of her works on piano. Mr. Schultz is an internationally acclaimed artist who has worked closely with such eminent composers such as Hyo-shin Na, John Cage, Morton Feldman, Christian Wolff, Frederic Rzewski, Earle Brown, Jonathan Harvey and Elliott Carter.
