Gilded Lilies

The Santa Cruz Baroque Festival presents:

Gilded Lilies
(Season Concert III)

Featuring Ariose Singers (Michael McGushin, director),
Vlada Moran (organ) & Sheila Willey (soprano).

Saturday, March 31, at 7:30pm
Holy Cross Church (Santa Cruz)

The Baroque Festival's next concert showcases medieval, renaissance and baroque choral masterworks in their pristine glory, alongside intriguing re-interpretations by later generations of composers, who transformed familiar heirlooms into sensitive and sophisticated new works. Performing are Ariose Singers, a choral ensemble of skilled singers under the direction of Michael McGushin, as well as soprano soloist Sheila Willey, with Vlada Moran on organ. We invite our audience to revel with romantics such as Mendelssohn, Schumann and Brahms and their settings of organ works by J.S. Bach, and Charles Gounod's beloved 'Ave Maria'.

This concert takes place on March 31, 2012 at 7:30pm at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz. Tickets can be purchased through the UCSC Ticket Office (www.santacruztickets.com, 831-459-2159) and the Civic Center Box Office. Ticket prices range between $3-23.
