Green Ways To School is hosting a "Pimp My Bike" workshop which will provide you with the opportunity to learn simple bike maintenance techniques and skills, with a focus on visibility and night riding with style. The workshop will include printmaking and silk-screening t-shirts and reflective safety materials for bicycles and backpacks, making custom buttons, splatter art, spray paint stenciling, bike bucket making, saddle bag and other sewing projects, spoke card making and maybe even airbrush painting!
This is also a great time for a bike tune-up or if you want help fixing a flat. There will also be milkshakes and/or smoothies.
Contribute to our zine, Spoke, which will have lots of art, writing and resources for riding your bike and all about non-motorized transportation. Give us a call or send us an email, it's not too late to submit work, or help us publish!
If you are interested in helping us make a bike powered sound system, to be used at our poetry slam/open mic night, please contact us.
