Is he real, or is he imaginary? Elwood P. Dowd loves his life as a man-about-town accompanied everywhere by his best friend, a 6-foot-one-and-one-half-inch tall invisible rabbit named Harvey. His sister Veta and her daughter Myrtle Mae, not quite enjoying life with an invisible rabbit, decide it's time for Elwood to take a rest at a local Sanitarium, Chumley’s Rest. However, when Veta visits Chumley’s Rest to commit her brother, she, Myrtle Mae, and the staff of Chumley's find that Harvey, be he imaginary or otherwise, not only has his influence over Elwood, but over everyone, in surprising, funny, and touching ways. Written by playwright Mary Chase, Harvey is a classic not to be missed.
