Hermeto Pascoal, one of Brazil’s most eccentric, prolific and treasured composers has long since defied labels. A virtuoso pianist, accordionist and flautist, Pascoal also prefers rather more unconventional ways of producing sounds and songs, including chairs, pints of beer, kitchen utensils and body parts, which are just a few of his unique “tools.” Calling him a multi-instrumentalist barely scrapes the surface of this deeply innovative musician who has performed with the likes of Miles Davis, John Lennon and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Get ready to experience Pascoal and his group, who brings forth music that is as delightful and consciousness expanding as it is rare.
