Jazz musicians from Latin America, and South America in particular, have been popping up all over the radar screen lately with some fresh and inspiring takes on the jazz genre. Vocalist Natalia Bernal is one of the rising stars in this Latin jazz wave. Add keyboardist Mike Eckroth (of John Scofield’s New Quartet) and seven-string guitarist Jason Ennis and you have a unique stamp on familiar bossa-novas, boleros, tangos, Andean folk tunes, jazz standards mixed and original compositions.
