Lighthouse Bank presents new exhibit of Santa Cruz images by Marcos Weiss

In this series, artist Marcos Weiss captures Santa Cruz in a timeless period. Aspects from the past are blended with elements from the present, making it not very obvious to the viewer when the work might have been painted.

From the artist:

Works by Monet, Edward Hopper, and Arthur Mathews have had great influence in my paintings. Merging aspects of Impressionism, California Tonalism and Americana, my paintings depict Santa Cruz architecture without much human activity. Buildings have personalities. In capturing those personalities I see my paintings as architectural portraits. - Marcos Weiss
