The evening opens with the world premiere of a symphonic poem inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's story The Shadow. Composer Avner Dorman, one of Israel's most successful and renowned young composers, created the new work as part of Meet the Composer's Magnum Opus project, Phase Two. The Marin Symphony is honored to have been chosen as one of the orchestras to launch this unusual project and to continue participation in it.
