Composer/pianist Omar Sosa, with six previous Grammy nominations to his credit, has established an international reputation for his exciting brand of Afro-Cuban jazz. His dedication to the folkloric roots of his music, mixed with contemporary harmonic structures and a passionate performing ethic, keeps Sosa in the forefront of today’s innovators. He will be performing compositions from his upcoming album, EGGUN, originally commissioned by the Barcelona Jazz Festival as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue. Omar’s quartet features the critically-acclaimed Peter Apfelbaum on saxophone, Childo Tomas on electric bass, and Marque Gilmore on drums.
