The Song Tasting series continues at the Backstage Lounge (next to the Rio Theater). This monthly series focuses on showcasing the wealth of local songwriting talent with occasional appearances from Bay Area and travelling performers. The March tasting offers a wonderful cuvee featuring soulful vocals with a splash of bluesy sass from Jade Elizabeth Taylor (musicbyjade.com), award-winning songs and hot licks from Glenn MacPherson (reverbnation.com/glennmacpherson), evocative songs with compelling vocals from Gary Garrett (dinoklaxia.com), and intoxicating songs garnished with guitar and harp from series host Midyne (midyne.com). Each artist plays a 30-minute set with a healthy portion of collaboration throughout the evening. Join us for an assortment of homegrown Americana, new folk, blues, jazz and acoustic rock. Doors open at 6pm for food and beverages and music starts at 7pm. Come hungry and thirsty to support this intimate live music venue. Cover $10.
