Hotel Rooms Available For Santa Cruz County Health Care Workers

Santa Cruz County health care workers exposed to the new coronavirus may access free or reduced-cost hotel rooms near their workplaces.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Health care workers exposed to the new coronavirus may temporarily stay in hotel rooms at no or reduced cost to protect their families, the county announced Tuesday.

The program is made possible thanks to the California Office for Emergency Services and will allow health care workers to stay at pre-selected rooms near medical facilities.

Health care workers are eligible if they: can't self-isolate or quarantine at home; have been possibly exposed to patients or people with a COVID-19 case documented by a medical professional or state/county public health official; and work at a California health care facility. California Health Corps. workers are also eligible.

Health care workers interested in booking a room may call the Cal Travel Store at 877-454-8785. Callers must provide their job title, and the county and medical facility they work in.

Health care workers must provide their employee identification and personal credit card for incidentals at check-in.
