Man Stabbed, Tried To Kill Roommate, Santa Cruz Police Say

A man was found stabbed multiple times and remains in the intensive care unit of a trauma center, police say.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A man was charged with attempted murder after the Santa Cruz Police Department found a man with multiple stab wounds while responding to a call of two men fighting Sunday night, police said. Andrew Lee Foster, 26, was a roommate of the man who was stabbed, police said.

The stabbing victim received emergency aid on scene and emergency surgery at Dominican Hospital. He was taken to a trauma center, where he remains in the intensive care unit, police said.

Police said they received a report of two men fighting in the 200 block of Gault Street late Sunday night and found a man had been stabbed, with serious injuries to his upper body and torso.

Roommates in the house told officers that Foster and the man found with serious injuries were both their roommates, police said. The stabbing occurred after an argument between the two men, police said.

Foster remains in custody under $375,000 bail, jail records show.
