About Young Writers Program: The Young Writers Program (YWP) is a non-profit co-sponsored by Santa Cruz County Office of Education and Santa Cruz Writes working to bring the love of writing into the classrooms of Santa Cruz County. YWP Volunteers work with 4th through 12th grade public school students on teacher-initiated writing projects throughout the school year. Projects culminate in the publication of a book and/or presentation of written material. Through one-on-one mentoring and a focus on highlighting great work the Young Writers Program provides students with invaluable support and personalized attention as they develop as young writers.
